The Second Sunday after Easter

Apr 19, 2026    The Rev. Kasey Gage

This homily proclaims Christ as the Good Shepherd in John 10:11 to 16, fulfilling God’s promise through the prophets in Ezekiel 34:23 and Isaiah 40:11. It traces the failure of past leaders from Moses to David and the divided kingdom, showing the need for a perfect shepherd. Jesus stands apart as the one who owns the sheep, knows them, and gives his life for them. The homily connects this to the Prayer Book vision of Christ guiding and protecting his Church. It calls the parish to hear his voice, remain close to him, and trust him to lead them into eternal life.
